Sequoia National Park CA
Since I haven’t seen the sun in over a week & Mike’s been on the road working for just as long, he was finally off for the weekend. :) We took a road trip to Squaw Valley & had lunch at Bear Mountain Pizza. Then continued on our way to the Sequoia National Park. It only takes us about an hour from our house to get to the main gate.
Let it be known I absolutely hate the road (hwy 180) getting there. Think huge cliffs and super curvy roads but I will say it is a beautiful drive if when your not locking you knees & squinting your eyes. Or feeling car sick. This is not news to Mike, but he was cleverly convincing this time. I think the words “your a butt turd” came out of my mouth on the way home. Though so I can’t be sure. 😉
Anyway we had to travel through thick, patchy fog to about 6,000 feet to see this.
That’s the thick layer of fog we’ve been living under.
These were taken just outside Sequoia Lake.
This looks like the ocean to me.
A little prospective…
A little closer…
The hus, Mike…
Humm yellow snow…
On our way home. 🙁
Don’t tell Mike, but I actually enjoyed it once we were there.
It’s amazing what a little sun can do for you.
What do you live by? Do you visit often?
Yosemite is about a 2 hour drive for us but I’ve only gone twice. Once on a field trip in elementary school & another time with Mike, but we were cheap butts & went of a free day…along with everyone else in the world. It took us hours to get in & we didn’t even see anything because it was so packed. We are talking about going again…and paying for it this time.
We also live within 5 hours or less (driving) to Vegas, Sonoma Wine Country, the beach, L.A & San Francisco.
