Beachy Kinda Weekend

Mike & I decided on a whim to head to Pismo Beach last weekend.  I’ve been stalking the weather and it was in the 70’s & sunny all weekend.  Perfect beach weather!

We headed out Friday evening and stayed until Monday but wanted to stay forever.  One day we’ll live by the beach.  That’s our dream anyhow.

We stopped at a Brewery in Paso Robles for dinner.  I can’t remember the name of it, but the food was awesome and the beer got a thumbs up from Mike.

Saturday we spent the entire day in San Luis Obispo (SLO).  It’s about a 15 mile drive north of Pismo.  It was windy but in the 80’s.

A stream that runs through downtown right next to the mission, shops & restaurant’s.

We had lunch at a sandwich shop and shopped.

I shopped while Mike got his fur cut.  Of course I had to stop for cake batter ice cream.  It took me 3 ice cream & fro-yo shops to find it, but I did!

Enter my $2.99 kids scoop…

After looking at over priced stuff, I asked Mike to take me to Forever 21 & I’d be his my size Barbie.  The man knows how to dress me better than I can!

Ignore my messy bedroom.

Saturday I woke up to sunshine and crappy Starbucks coffee.  Sour cream + Americano = 🙁

But I was excited to run in paradise.  I did a 10K with hills.  I’m sure some of you would laugh at what hills mean to me since the only hills I run on are slants on the sides of roads.  At least I was going uphill in the beginning.

  1. Hey There Skinnychickblog,
Interesting Post, I’ve been really into upbeat, tropical sounding alt-rock lately. Kinda sounds weird but it’s a summer thing. Songs like-

    – “I Can’t Stay” by The Killers
    – “Bones” by The Killers
    – “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” by Vampire Weekend
    – “Mansard Roof” by Vampire Weekend

Anything upbeat, summery, sounds like it could be played on a cruise but- rock music. Beachy and fun. Steel drum a plus.

(PS I already have most of the Beach Boys…I’m looking more for alternative, modern rock/indie…upbeat stuff. Pool/beach party mix stuff.)

    THANKS 🙂
    Kindest Regards
