It was Mike’s only day off work and it was rainy & gloomy but that didn’t stop us for exploring the bay area. That boy works so much, I would have had a picnic in the pouring rain, ate worms & dirt and grinned from ear to ear. I was just so happy to hang out with him!
We hopped on the 92 to the 280 and about 20 minutes later we were driving across the Golden Gate bridge. It blows my mind how close we live to this!
I’m totally starting my bucket list and running across the GG bridge is going to be on there!
We didn’t have any plans at all. Just wanted to explore & do some sightseeing.
Mike saw a sign that said Stinson Beach and asked if I’d like to check it out. It’s a beach, of course I wanna go!
Had I known it was a long & winding road with lots of hairpins, I would have rejected the idea. I don’t usually get carsick but it’s not relaxing at all for me.
At least it was a beautiful drive.
We stopped at Muir Beach to catch some fresh air & admire the scenery. There was a storm surge that made huge crashing waves. It was pretty gnarly.
Jumped back on Highway 1, endured more winding roads but was rewarded with this view.
Most of the shots I took are hazy because it was raining pretty much the entire trip.
Kept driving North (I think) and ended up right next to the bay. The road being so close to the ocean was a trip. I wonder if it’s usually high because of the storm surge? Neither of us could think of a time in our lives that we’ve driven this close to a shoreline. Pretty neat!
Coming back was beautiful too. We could see the city off in the distance. I wish it was a clear day, that would have been awesomesauce!
Saw a coyote looking for some lunch.
So were we. You’ll just have to wait until the next post to see the most epic, amazingsauce lunch ever.
