White Jacket Required Signing

Yesterday we went to San Francisco for a special book signing.  I’ve only been begging telling Mike about for the last month.

We got there a few hours early to have lunch & explore a bit.

After driving through, I recognized a Chinese restaurant Courtney took me to and I knew Mike would love it.

Henry’s Hunan

All of the other restaurant’s we passed by were packed but we were the only ones in this place.  Usually we take that as a sign & bail, but I already knew this place was a gem.

We ordered combination chow mien

Orange Chicken

And Curry Beef

But first Hot & Sour Soup.  The best I’ve ever had!

Everything was delicious.  Mike kept saying how much he loved it.  That made me feel so good because I’m really not good at these kind’s of things.

After lunch we stopped in for Americano’s.

And set out to explore the area.

Then finally the main event, White Jacket Required!!

I’ve been following Jenna’s blog, eatliverun.com since 2008 and it’s always been one of my favorites.

I really enjoy following her and feel like I kinda “know her” though her blog if that makes sense.

She has the most amazing recipes and pictures.  In fact my favorite cupcake recipe came from her.  If I could do a scratch n’ sniff though my laptop screen, I would!

She read chapter 16, which make’s me even more excited to read her book. Then after it was uber cool to finally meet her.

I’m so awkward when I’m out of my comfort zone so I tried to think of something to say that wasn’t cliché.  Seriously, what do normal people say!?

When I walked up to talk to her, I mumbled out something like “I’ve been following you blog since 2008 and I love it.”

So original, I know.  Ha!

She asked me where I’m from and made sure to spell my name correctly (which I appreciate) while she signed my book.

She genuinely smiled & thanked me for coming out.  Made my day!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a book to read.
