A little about me

Hello to all of my new readers!!

Thank you all so much for stopping by.

I figured I’d tell you a little about myself and hopefully don’t scare you off.

I’m hoping you’ll do the same so I don’t feel like a turd.  Mmmkay.

Here we go…

  • I love running and probably talk about it way too much.  The more it hurts, the more I dig it.  It’s a sickness.

  • The half marathon is my favorite distance.  It’s the perfect amount of torture.  5k’s kill me but somehow I still find myself at the start line…
  • I also like to cross train on my road bike.  I refuse to do anything other than tan in a pool, so no triathlons for me.
  • If I’m not at home, I’m probably running, at Target, Trader Joe’s, Starbucks, taking one of my elderly friends grocery shopping or the dog park.
  • The neon running colors are my favorite trend ever.  It’s finally cool to be obnoxious.
  • My husband, Mike & I live in Mountain View, CA with our Jack Russell, Bam.  We moved to the bay area from the sticks just outside Fresno a year ago tomorrow.

We’ve been together for 10 years, married for 6 and a half.

  • I have in irrational fear of snakes and people/me puking.  I instantly get anxious and would climb a wall to escape if I could.  I am a peach.
  • I don’t have a “real people” job.  Mike works full time and I take care of everything else.  Literally.  I’m a volunteer at the senior center to take elderly folks grocery shopping.  I also do friendly visits where I swing by and chat with them for a bit.  It is incredibly fulfilling!  This makes both of us very happy.  So I guess that makes me a stay at home………….wife?
  • My little grandma Lucille is my most favorite person ever.  And yes, she’s on Facebook every day and can out walk 99% of the population.  I miss living close to her.

  • I’m hoping Mizuno will read my blog one day, think I’m cool & kick down a pair of Wave Riders.  But so far all I hear are crickets.
  • I’m determined to complete whatever I put my mind to.  This is when my stubbornness comes in handy.
  • My dream house is on the Central Coast of California with a couple acres and 22 dogs running around playing.  Mike agrees with everything but the 22 dogs.
  • I’m a clean freak. Our entire bedding and towels are all crisp white and I would be devastated if I had any other color.  <-first world problems
  • Salty > sweet.  Give me salt & vinegar chips, big pickles and lemons.  Especially after a long run.  It’s the best.

Do I have any readers after this??  Ha!

I’m done talking about myself now.  Tell me about yourself.  If you have a blog, feel free to link to it.

  1. Haha, this is fabulous! I’m a first-time reader and I’ll definitely be back 😉 If I’m not at home, you could find me in any of the above mentioned places, I am obsessed with bright colors [hot pink and lime green are #1 and#2], and I am a bit of an OCD neat-freak… I think we’d get along haha!

  2. Love this!!! And I’m a huge fan of the neon trend too. Not only is it awesomely attention grabbing, it means I’m less likely to get hit by a car 😉

  3. Volunteering rocks, I also love running and talking about running (duh:)), your grandma is cute, and I am very sorry but we cannot agree on salty and sweet. I have a sweeeeet tooth! I’m trying to work on it, starting tomorrow of course.

  4. I’m a new reader and I’m glad to know a little more about you! I agree with loving to look obnoxious in neon while running and your dream house on the coast with all the dogs sounds right up my alley. I also think its really cool that you volunteer with the elderly.

  5. Yes!!!! Another sweet running blog!!!! Totally agree with the appeal of neon running stuff, neon + spandex = complete intimidation

  6. you’re hilarious! i found your link on SR’s blog and had to take a peek! glad i did 🙂 look forward to reading more of your posts!

  7. Ahh finally someone who won’t think my puke phobia is silly! I have crawled over seats in airplanes and jumped out of a moving car just to avoid the people getting sick. Great blog, I’ll definitely add you to my list of blogs to read!

  8. You are hilarious! I just found your blog through SkinnyRunner’s.
I’m the same about the puke… I can’t even clean up my dog’s puke without puking. Actually gagging just thinking about it. Eww. Just know you’re not alone in that club!
Awesome to hear about your volunteering gig… you just totally inspired me 🙂

  9. I found you through SR. Love this, I’ll definitely be back. I’m not a runner, but for some odd reason I love reading running blogs and then pretend that I can run, or something like that? I just did my first half in September. The whole time I was thinking, why did I sign up for this, what am I doing, I’m NEVER doing this again. Fast forward a month later, now thinking of signing up for another one in February. Also my husband also says he speaks fluent “sarah” because what I say is amost always random and out of left field.

  10. Reblogged this on Skinny Chick Blog and commented:

I’m still tending to the living dead over here and since I have quite a few new readers, I thought I’d reblog this post. Please feel free to tell me a little about yourself in the comments section. I love getting to “know” my readers!

  11. Ah, I completely have an irrational fear of puking and people around me puking! I think I have a problem. I love your blog and your doggie, so cute!

  12. Like many others, I found you through SR, and I love your blog. Also, you are totally not alone with the puking thing. I feel bad when my husband is sick with a stomach bug because I’m not comforting at all. I stay as far away as possible– poor guy. Just curious: do you plan on running a marathon ever or will you stick to the half marathon distance? I’m impressed that you still do 5ks. They’re too fast for me these days.

    • Your comment made my day! Seriously, I feel the same way when Mike’s sick.
I have a marathon on my bucket list but don’t have any plans in the near future to tackle it. Are you a marathoner!?
It’s funny I don’t like racing 5K’s but that distance is the perfect loop around my ‘hood. Thank you so much for stopping by!
