Starstruck & Select Physical Therapy

I go to bed early and wake up early.  Grandma status right here.

Today I actually had a good reason to be up before the sun.

I didn’t want Skinny Runner to get mugged or murdered taking BART to the airport.

Okay, and my life would be over if something happed to her and I wouldn’t be able to read her blog.

Thanks for the pic SR.

We had a little extra time, so a stop at Starbucks was in order.  Duh!

She is an absolute sweetheart.  Very easy to talk to, super calm and comfortable with herself.  I had wonderful time hanging out her.

After I dropped her off at SFO, I had a little time to kill before my hour torture session.

I wanted to stimulate the economy and I love coffee so I went to another Starbucks and caught up on stalking your blogs over my second Double Shot.

Weeeeeeeeee

I’m digging the race recaps big time.  Link to yours, I’d love to check it out.

This is Jeff, the man behind all of my torture sessions.

I have been seeing (uh, that sounds like I’m cheating on my husband ha!) since March.

He promised my injured arch would be normal again someday and my hamstring I injured cycling (because I couldn’t run gurrrr) would also heal.

I really did not believe him until one day I realized I was running completely pain free.  It was a magical moment I tell ya.

He’s only smiling because I’m in the “hurts so good” kind of pain.

Oh and I learned a long time ago to never, ever tell him this exercise is too easy.

Knowing I have a trained professional (who is a runner too) that can not only fix my injuries, put up with my crap, take my jokes and 100% understands mylifewillfallapartifIcantrun is invaluable.

If your in the San Francisco bay area and need to borrow Jeff, you can find him at Select Physical Therapy, but I’m warning you, I want him back.  Or you can see Catherine, who is also amazing.

Just a little FYI, I wasn’t sponsored or asked to write uber cool things. It’s just something I have been thinking about a lot and wanted to express how thankful I am having someone to turn to when my IT band burns or my hamstring feels weird or ask if it’s okay to hop on 1 foot.  <-true story, don’t ask.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a mountain of laundry to wash, a dog to walk, grocery shopping to do and make an edible dinner.

Good thing I’ve already had 4 shots of espresso today.

Your turn:

Have you ever been injured?

Ever been to physical therapy?

Tell me something random.  Anything!

  1. I am currently injured, but no pt. If I’m not walking pain free by Friday, then my doc said he is going to refer me to pt so we will see. You make it seem less scary, so thanks!

  2. Hi! I ran Nike & live in SF too and just found your blog thru SR!
Heres my race post – http://pinkpolkadotdiary.blogspot.com/2012/10/nike-marathon-2012.html

  3. Physical therapy-yes. A super cute therapist who held my leg up in the air like that- yes. Ha ha. Great meeting you the other night! Next time I’m in SF, we’ll have to hit up Starbucks at least once. :)

  4. I have had to do physical therapy several times after knee surgeries.

Totally random – I just hauled half a semi full of food out of church into the semi for the food pantry and I feel like I got in a bonus workout today – canned goods are way heavier than I imagined when combining them together in boxes.
