Imposter house hunters

One thing Mike & I love to do is cruise around checking out houses.

There are so many homes that have so much character & charm.  Like this one.

This one looks like it was out of a story book or fairy tale. It’s so adorable.

We were driving aimlessly when we saw an open house sign.

It lead us to a house that is at the highest elevation in San Jose with a killer view.  And an owner who loves himself.

This picture doesn’t do it justice.  He said it even snows about 3 times a year.

We had to see the inside.

I LOVE the huge windows.  My favorites are the floor to ceiling ones, but this would totally do.

It was a 3/2, about 1,800 square feet for only 1.2 million.  Haha yeah….no.  But so fun to check out.

Our next victim was really nice too.

I love the tub & shower combo.

I’m assuming a business man lives there?

Maybe he’s into home security sales?  He had panic buttons, surveillance cameras & alarms every where.

At least the dude keeps the dry cleaners in business.

I think this one was a 4/2.5 and the asking price was around $800,000.

It was fun being imposter potential buyers, but the prices are insane.

Back home (Fresno area) these kind of homes go for about $200,000 to $300,000.

How is the housing market where you live?  I’m always interested in comparing markets in other cities.

After checking out homes way out of our budget, we went somewhere that we could actually afford.

Trader Joe’s.

I’m loving their fall stuff.  I’ll have to pick up a pumpkin to carve soon.

Your never too old to carve a pumpkin, right?

I usually hit up the grocery store 2 or 3 times a week, but I think we picked up enough stuff for the week.  Every time Mike’s with me, our grocery bill magically doubles.  But it makes the boy happy so we’ll just roll with it.  Does that happen to you?

Talk to me!

What do you like to do for fun?

How was your weekend?

  1. That first house is adorable! I’m not sure what the housing market here in Germany is but we are moving soon to Colorado Springs and hope to buy a home within a year… I’m from Vancouver and houses are insanely expensive there.

  2. I do this all the time with my parents. We love checking out open houses. In Tallahassee prices are very reasonable but where I grew up (Miami) things are pretty pricey.
