I was stoked to be back out on the trail this morning! Like really stoked!
You can’t tell by the pictures, but it was pretty windy out there. Too bad it didn’t rain. Now that would have been fun to run in the rain and mud!
I was being a little over dramatic with the long sleeved top. It looks chilly, but last time I checked mid 60’s is not classified as cold.
I did 3 miles and I’m still trying to figure out how I kept up a 9 minute pace?! I’ll take it though.
I can’t wait to go back home and run my favorite route right by my in laws house. It’s nothing fancy, but holds a special place in my heart since it’s where I fell in love with running. <3
I went to visit my elderly friends this afternoon. The husband is legally blind and the wife has a lot of health issues. They enjoy having company and I’m happy to hang out.
I chatted with the wife for a while and the husband came in to talk for a bit. He mentioned the make & model of my car. Even the color. I was intrigued & he didn’t seem to mind my gazillion questions, which was really cool he was so open.
I asked, so your 99% blind, how can you see me when you open the door?
He sweetly said “I have 1% vision.”
Wow, talk about the glass half full!!
Now, I consider myself pretty positive and his reply totally caught me off guard, in a good way of course.
So then he explained that he can only see though his peripheral vision. And mostly objects that are moving.
I said, but my car isn’t moving.
He replied “I am.”
He is a retired inventor (!) and still walks to the grocery store, cooks, cleans the house, takes wonderful care of his wife along with a bunch of other things.
This may not seem like much, but I really dig the simple things.
I drove home thinking of how all it takes is the will.
And left there with a full thankful heart.
Tell me something your thankful for?
Did you workout today? What did you do?
Do you remember your first run ever? How far did you go?
What got your interested in running?
