5 shades of blue & random tip

This is currently my view as I try to type this post.  He won the staring contest in case your wondering.


Anyway this morning I went set out to do a 4 mile run.  Mike stayed home from work sick today.  He said something about his eyelashes hurting again, so I put him to work and made him take my picture.  6 times.

I don’t mind the 5 different shades of blue I have on, I assure you it’s a new trend.


Then I headed to the Bay Trail to run along the bay.  Duh. 


It was cloudy and in the low 50’s, perfect running weather.  I didn’t want to stop, so I ended up doing 5 miles but felt like I could have kept going. 


There are so many geese out on the trail and I always think they are going to chase or peck me to death.  So far they just stand there and stare at me.



My patient was hungry for lunch when I got back and I’ve been wanting to check out a lunch spot, Specialties for the longest time.  I had the Cobb salad it was really good and I’m actually plotting my return.

  1. Great run today Jackie !! And I used to wear colorful fuzzy socks when I first started running ! Lol it was fun !!

      • Not fun at all. I kept thinking, I hope it doesn’t get scared and start spraying, I’ve got to go to work. LOL!!!! Can you imagine walking around smelling like skunk all day. UGH!!!

        Anyways…I did 5.25. It was a beautiful morning to run. The weather was just the way i like it.

  3. When you’re out on a run and your head or heart is really not that into it what do you do to get yourself motivated?

  4. Haven’t run since Sunday. I have just been feeling sooo bleh the past two days. Though I do plan on getting in some form of cardio today. I need some endorphins.

    My husband was chased by a raccoon while in college. I have been chased by bees and attacked by the biggest cricket/grasshopper I have ever seen in my life it made me cry. lol.

    I have never run on the Bay Trail! I might just have to do that this weekend 🙂

  5. I love your dog, Bam! My sweet Jack Russell, Bentley, will be seven years old next month. Can you post a video of Toss the Jack? Has he played that game since he was a puppy? CUTE!

    • Thank you! I bet Bentley is adorable.
      Bam’s 8 and we got him from a JR rescue 2 1/2 years ago.
      That’s a great idea! Let me see if I can make it happen.

  6. Once on a run I saw something following me in the corner of my eye. It was a gigantic rottweiler happily “chasing” me. She ran behind/to my side for about a half mile before finding a very interesting plant to sniff.

    I run 25-35 miles a week. Once I get above 35 my IT band gives me problems.

    I’m eating leftover roasted broccoli as we speak (also with roasted mushies and grape tomatoes)

  7. Do you feel like running in compression socks makes a difference? Do you wear them on runs that are longer only?
