The .20 mile run

Uh, I kinda feel really stupid right now.  After writing yesterday’s motivational post, I wasn’t feeling a run, but forced myself out to the trail anyway.  Every time I do that, I end up pounding out the miles and getting in a nice workout.

Folks, I made it .20 of a mile and called it quits.  Point 20.  It was cold and my new Lulu top was clearly made for yoga, not running and I just felt off.

I was so disappointed, I’ve never done this before, I don’t ever just give up, but something about it just didn’t feel right.

Turns out I felt like I was coming down with the flu bug Mike had earlier this week.  I’m glad I didn’t push it, but I still feel so weird.

Then I went to the grocery store and bought 3 tubs of butter. So not joking.  I was walking to the checkout and thought to myself so you run .20 miles, call it quits and go buy butter.  lol

Actually there is only 1 store I know of close by that carries my favorite brand, so I always stock up.

The rest of the afternoon & evening was spend on the couch talking to my mom on the phone with a fever, sore throat and a grumpy attitude.  Ha!

That was taken 2 hours after I took Advil.

At least I had Bam & Dredd to hang out with.

Bam is having a slumber party with his buddy Dredd this weekend while his mom & dad are on vacation.  He’s such a sweetie I might dog nap him.  😉

I went to Trader Joe’s for a few groceries after.

So there ya have it.  Do as I say, not as I do mmmkay.

For some crazy reason I woke up feeling fine this morning.  So I don’t know what’s going on, but I’ll take it.

Now I want you to go out and run for me!  Have a great weekend!!

Make me feel better, tell me about your last crappy workout.

Anyone racing this weekend?  I want to hear about it!

  1. Lots of strange sicknesses going around. Glad you are feeling better. Take it easy on yourself if you still don’t feel 100%

  2. I got you covered !! Lol but my baby was feverish yesterday & now she seems fine hhmm hope you’re feeling better!

  3. Ack – I’m glad you’re feeling better today.

Will it make you feel better to know that I have had a week’s worth of terrible runs??

Here’s to better runs all around from here on out!

  4. I came down with the flu on NYE. I woke up feeling fine, did Jillian’s Banish Fat Boost Metabolism workout, and was kinda thinking I felt off. Felt really blah after that. Ran to the store. Made a bunch of NYE, and just kept getting worse and worse as the day went on. I had a pretty decent fever and was in bed by 9:30 and was running a high temp the next day. Get some rest! You can run when you feel better.

    • Oh man that does not sound fun. I think my husband had the same thing you had. I’ve been pretty lucky, I didn’t get it near as bad. Have a great day!!

  5. First off, you have a very organized fridge! Second of all, don’t get down on yourself for the run. It’s odd but sometimes I’ll get super motivated for a great run (after blogging about it or talking to Nicole or whatever) and then all of a sudden, it’s like I’m in a running funk that I can’t get out of. It can be a major bummer, but I think if you listen to your body’s mood you’ll come back with an even better run, workout, etc. I really hope you don’t get Mike’s flu bug! Crossing my fingers for you!

  6. You poor thing! Glad you felt better after relaxing. I had planned on jogging after TRX yesterday, but when I got home, it was too windy, so I cleaned my house instead.

  7. I’m just here to apologize for reading:” It was cold and my new Lulu top was clearly made for yoga, not running and I just felt off.” as “…my new Lulu top was clearly made for yoga, not running and *it just fell off*.” #SpitTake
