Google, I’m feeling lucky

You know those times when you’re running and everything just clicks?  Yeah, it was that kind of run.  It’s kind of odd because I was nervous my endurance wasn’t quite there yet.  I guess I need to underestimate myself more often.

I ran along the Bay Trail for a couple miles and then around the Google campus.

It was warm out & the sidewalks around Google are covered in shade. Plus I know where all of the water fountains are. Nerd alert!

I started thinking about training on my bike in sugardaddie Woodside.  (Yeah well file that under stuff I can’t make up.)  And how awesome it feels to be able to run without constantly thinking about how my injured arch is feeling every 2.3 seconds.

Anyway, I did 8 pain free, happy miles and I’m feeling much more confident about running the SLO half marathon next month.  Whew.

Then I got home and realized I chafed on the side of my arm and had a blonde moment when I couldn’t remember if I put on deodorant.  Oh well I guess that’s what the Google employees get for putting Google Reader on the chopping block.  Muhahaha

I knew if I sat down on the couch, I’d never get back up, so I took a shower, cleaned the entire house and even made the bed & an edible dinner.  Then went to bed at a normal person hour.  Dang, this time change is actually making me seem like I’m 32 and not 80.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I need a refill on my coffee to get me through transfering my favorite blogs to a new feed since Google Reader is shutting down.  Punks.

And just because this made my day!

How do you keep up with your favorite blogs?

How do you build confidence when training for a race?

Tell me something you recently saw that you can’t make up.

    You’re so freaking awesome.

Something I saw……only one….I swear I live with circus animals. My daughter and her friend sitting on my bathroom counter – pressing their nasty dogs [feet] on my mirror…..to compare foot sizes.

  2. I still CANNOT believe they’re getting rid of it…. did you see people petitioning outside ;)

    • OMG no, this is the first I’ve heard about that lol! I totally agree with you. People need to relax, it was a free service anyway.

  3. Sometimes I forget if I put on deodorant or not too. :) Quite honestly, I have never used Google reader before. Looks like you had a great run!

And I nearly spit out my tea laughing over the autocorrect image.

  4. Look up Feedly! Both app and web. It transfers your Google Reader stuff in a second and it looks pretty too :)
I was kinda bummed about the Google Reader thing until I found feedly, now I couldn’t care less!

  5. I use Feedly for my reader and I love it! Highly recommend it. 3 cheers for a great run!

  6. I’m sooo glad I never got addicted to Google Reader, I have so many friends that are SO upset about this! I just use the blogger feed. It’s pretty easy and manageable.

  7. I keep up with my blogs oldschool by using bookmarks haha. I end up visiting all of them everyday that way.

Oh, I was so sad about Google Reader’s demise, but I’ve switched to Feedly already – it was super easy, and I actually like it MUCH better!
