I have great news!!
This morning at 4:02 a.m. (west coast time) the sun crossed directly over the equator, marking the vernal equinox and the start of SPRING!!
My favorite season of all. Second is summer in case you were wondering.
Bam is thrilled too, if you can’t tell.
It’s currently cloudy with a chance of meatballs rain and I have 9 miles to run. Someone please motivate to get out there. I am a cold weather runner and really enjoy it, but when the sun hides, I have a hard time getting my butt out the door. File that under #firstworldproblems
Maybe she can help…
Marisa Miller is incredibly gorgeous, is she not!? Maybe I should take her advise. Or just go for that run…
In other news, I am stoked my Lu is coming over this weekend!! She will be with us the entire spring break.
If you’re new to the blog, she is Mike’s daughter and my little side kick. I seriously think she’s really my kid though.
We have so much fun together I can’t wait!!
How do you motivate yourself to workout when you’re not feeling it?
What are your plans for spring break?
Tell me 2 things you did yesterday.

Yesterday, I had a cupcake for dessert…..after I did a 6.5 mile speed workout on the treadmill.
The 2nd best way to recover in IMO!!
Check THIS no excuses post out:) http://olivetorun.com/2013/03/07/if-its-important-youll-find-a-way/
Checking it out now. Thanks for the link.
It will be clearing up some time today
For me, I don’t mind a little rain. I just need some sun! If it’s too dark it’s automatically too cold for me. I need light to run outside.
No spring break for me. Damn.
I did some sketching for paintings, looked up images of dogs to add as examples to my paint portrait gallery and did a mini tri at the gym. Ran, swam and cycle class.
It’s funny because I love running in the rain, but wasn’t too sure how I’d feel doing a long run.
Dang, you’re busy. That’s really cool! When is your next race?
next race is April 7. RnR SF. Going to be a busy weekend for runners.
Santa Cruz and SLO are doing their races too that day.
I tell myself to start the workout, if you really aren’t into after the first 5 then bag it, whatever. I’ve never started a workout and not put forth a hard effort. Just a mind game I play with myself. Now to stop rewarding myself with food…not a dog right? But I am so loyal!
Not really spring break for us because my kiddos are 4, but this weekend we are going to Chicago, super excited!
Ooh have fun in Chicago!!
Oh that motivation trap is a tough one! I usually tell myself, “Just do 10 mins. & then you can stop!” 100% of the time I go longer. Simple yet effective. I was on adult spring break last week with my fam in the Caribbean, wish I was still there! Yesterday I walked all over Chicago ducking in & out of stores browsing & also got a manicure. Have fun!
Ahh the Caribbean vacay sounds so perfect right now. Did you take a cruise? Mani’s are the best. Along with pedi’s too!
No cruise just stayed in one spot for the week. I’m kind of scared of cruises with all that’s happened recently!
I’m with you on that one.
I WISH I got a spring break! Lately I’ve been finding it incredibly difficult to motivate myself- sometimes you just have to push yourself with every bit you have!
You are so right, sometimes it does take every ounce you have to push yourself. It’s so worth it, right!
My motivation right now is my first half marathon in May. I’m excited, and I know I have to put in the miles, strength/cross training so I can be ready.
Sometimes, I also reward myself by watching Parenthood episodes I haven’t seen on my Kindle Fire on the elliptical. Works quite well.
I am so excited you’re running your first half!! Let me know how it goes!
