Sunday Funday

Hi friends!  How was your weekend?

Let’s take a moment of silence for our dear virtual friend, Google Reader.  R.I.P

I managed to get up extra early for a run.  It was still hot & humid, but I think my body has finally adjusted to it because I no longer feel like death & sadness before the first mile.

It was nice to take it easy around Google land without the hustle & bustle weekday’s bring.  I’ve been running here about a year now, and I still find stuff I’ve never seen.  Like this…

The Shoreline Amphitheater is right next to Google and weekends bring concerts.  This is just one of the tour busses I saw.  The Mayhem Festival rolled into town and Rock Star was the event promoter, so it was fun to see them roll in.

Cool story, I was at the nail salon a couple months ago and the lady sitting next to me told me that before Google moved in, this area was all farm land with a few houses.  Google came in and bought most of them out, but some people turned down their offer.  I think there are 3 residential houses still there and she & her husband still live in one of them.

She said they still try to contact them, but they just ignore them.  Ha!  I love it!

Wow, I was not expecting to give you a history lesson this morning, but there ya have it.

If you are ever in the bay area, check out University in Palo Alto.  This place is amazing!   I especially love the open windows and people watching.

We had lunch at The Workshop.  I had a burger with no mayo (yuck) or onions, extra pickles & fries, Mike had a cobb salad and a few of my fries.  I am now questioning who we are.

Then we walked it off by exploring a couple stores.  The Keen shoe store is a complete experience.

I loved the old bug hoods hanging from the ceiling.

We wrapped up an awesome weekend going to the movies to see The Internship.  It was filmed at Google and Stanford so it was really cool to see the inside of some of the buildings I run by.

We both agreed it was good, Mike gave it an 8 out 10 and I gave it a 7.

How do you keep track of the blogs you read?

Bloglovin, hands down.  I tired Feedley and wasn’t a fan.

What was the last movie you saw?

Tell me 4 things you did over the weekend!
