Good Saturday morning!! How’s you weekend going so far?
I had a couple requests for a post about how I eat and I’ve been putting it off for awhile now because honestly, I am not a very good example.
Fact: The healthier I eat, the worse I feel and the worse I eat, the better I feel.
Fact: It makes no sense.
I love a huge salad the size of my face, but a couple hours later a stomachache set’s in and I start questioning my healthy decision. Guess I should have had pizza instead. Hah!
Finding balance seems to be a very delicate matter most of the time. My all or nothing mentality get’s the best of me and it becomes very frustrating. The good thing is I am feeling much better every day and I’m making progress, it’s just about finding balance now.
Y’all know I’m not a cook so I eat pretty much whatever Mike put’s in front of me. That boy is an amazing chef! When he works late, I make a snack plate of cheese, turkey or salami, crackers and fresh fruit. I hardly ever have a full meal or eat out by myself.
Here are a few staples we have on the reg.
- Grilled chicken. This is my favorite choice of complete protein. Mike grills a bunch for the week and we eat it plain, put it over white rice or chop it up and make tacos.
- Eggs. Fried & hardboiled.
- Salads even with the repercussions later.
- Fresh fruit. Produce is my favorite choice of fiber so I roll with white grains.
In the not so healthy department I love burgers, pizza, steak, fries and lot’s of kid food like fruit cups, jello and chips. Oh how I love my chips!
And cheese!! This Yancey’s Fancy Buffalo Wing cheddar is my current obsession.
And on those days when my gut want’s to be a punk, I resort to Chicken Ramen Noodle soup. It’s definitely not the healthiest, but it’s always sits well when I just need to get calories in.
