Simple things Sunday: Relaxing

Sunday’s are for relaxing.  It’s a day to recharge, meal plan for the next week, run, take your time sipping a hot cup of coffee in your nice warm snuggly bed…to do whatever you feel like don’t ya think?

Have a wonderful Sunday.  In the meantime, enjoy a couple ways I like to relax.

Someone reads the blog because one of the first things cowboy said when I came home from work <- (still feels weird to write btw) was how do you feel about going grocery shopping and make dinner together tonight?

So we did.  While I don’t like to cook, I love to do the prep work like chop veggies.  It works out well because he only likes to cook.  Dishes are more like a rock, paper, scissors thing.

Plus he’s pretty darn amazing cook!  I will eat anything that boy put’s in front of me.

How do you relax after a long day?

I take a bubble or Epsom Salt bath every single night.  It’s totally my thing.  If I feel like soaking for a long time, I light a candle and put on the Norah Jone’s station on Pandora.  It’s heavenly.

Speaking of candles, I am digging the new fall scents.  My current favorites are Salted Carmel & Pumpkin Spice.  I want to take a bite out of these babies.

I am sure slipping into fresh, clean sheets is right up there with coffee and unicorns.

It get’s even better when I come home to a clean laundry folded nicely and a made bed.  I don’t even make the bed.  Bonus brownie points for the husband taking the initiative to make it all by himself.  I hope his mother is reading this.  Winking smile

  1. Sundays for me is church, stop for a doughnut and laundry. That means clean sheets tonight! Today there will be a run, also.
I saw those Glade Salted Caramel candles yesterday! You are right, they smell good enough to eat!

  2. Sundays are a day to catch up on things I didn’t do on Saturday, relax with my husband, and enjoy the small things in life 🙂 They are always for relaxing and recharging to be ready to go on Monday!

P.S. There is nothing better than clean sheets!

  3. Sundays I usually go to church, take a nap, relax with the family, and run in the evening.

PS- Today Jayce and Mountain Man from Duck Dynasty were at my church. I tried really hard to act cool and not starstruck.

    • Now that is the coolest thing I’ve heard all day!! Great job holding it together-pretty sure I’d be a goober mess. Did you secretly snap a pic?

  4. I relax with wine or coffee and a book. Pre parenthood I loved spending 3 or 4 hours reading, now I’m happy to get 20 to 30 minutes.

a simple thing I enjoy is getting up before my daughter is awake and listening to her start her day. She talks and sings to herself and her animals for 15 to 20 minutes before she starts asking to get out of the crib. I LOVE that time every morning.

Sunday’s are all about getting the early morning long run in and/or race day, and then it’s all about football. I LOVE football, while I have “my” team I watch all the network games all day long! I love football Sunday!

  5. I was hoping for a relaxing day – maybe next Sunday!!!
I didn’t even get the grocery shopping done this weekend – guess I will be behind all week!

  6. I get in my hot tub to relax! Love, love, love it. Expensive but so worth it…especially when it’s snowy out.
