I was robbed
I am currently sitting at Starbucks freeloading off their wi-fi to upload this post I wrote last night because I am cheap and refuse to pay $24.99 at the hotel. My life is rough, you should all feel sorry for me.
I made it to the beautiful, beachy Santa Monica after a 5 hour drive. I’m typing this with the window wide open as the fresh ocean air is streaming in while listening to the world go by. Not bad if you ask me.
It’s been far too long since I’ve had Starbucks. I think this whole real job thing is affecting me.
I didn’t hit traffic but it’s still quite a hike. With all that time on my hands I realized a few things while driving- like how bad we need satellite radio & cruise control and Mike needs to hurry up and retire so we can live in the Paso Robles area. I guess Monterey will do for now. <-I hope you’re sensing my sarcasm. Oh and how much I love to travel.
After a quick check in at the hotel I set out to explore the Santa Monica Promenade. I love being in a walk able city!
Lululemon robbed me as soon as I walked in the door. It all happened so fast I don’t even know what to think. Side note to Mike: please note the savings in the first paragraph.
I knew the girls at Lulu would direct me to the best place to find a fresh chicken salad and turns out I was right. They suggested Tender Greens a couple blocks down.
I had a cobb salad with grilled chipotle chicken, which rocked. I couldn’t make up my mind so I asked for Asian & balsamic dressing on the side. Typical Jacqueline move right there.
Then I wandered the streets exploring and looking for a drug store. What are the odds I’d run completely out of toothpaste the morning I was going out of town? #truestory
On my way back to the hotel I spied a nail salon and stopped in for a manicure. This color is so Santa Monica, it’s called Beach Cruiser by Orly.
I swear she did a great job, I just have really dry hands. I blame the germaphobe in me.
I am really excited about the Fitness magazine event today!! I’ve never attended anything like this and I think it will be a blast. I’ll be back tomorrow with a full recap. Until then I’ll be on the IG & Twitter so feel free to stalk the par-tay there.
How do you find great restaurants while traveling?
Do you prefer walk able cities?
