Exactly what I needed

Let’s all take a moment and do the Friday dance.

Okay I’m back.

Runvember #thirtyin30 challenge friends, how’s it going?

30 miles

I was finally feeling great and ready to run.  The cool weather, salty sea air and crashing waves were exactly what I needed.

Something tells me, running here will never get old.

Yeah, that whole white after Labor Day rule clearly does not apply to me.  I do what I want.

Then I came home and had a glass of my beloved watermelon Nuun.  You know, the flavor I am hoarding until spring.  All I’ve ever wanted was a refrigerator with a built in water & crushed ice maker.  My life=complete.

From around the web:

Dani from Run Daniella Run is hosting a Stella & Dot Fundraiser Trunk Show both in person and online to support The Chelsea Hicks Foundation.  The Chelsea Hicks Foundation is based out of Portland Oregon.  Chelsea’s Closet is a rolling dress-up closet that provides monthly dress-up parties for seriously ill children in children’s hospitals. Our goal is to bring a smile to their faces and joy to their hearts and have them forget – if just for a few moments – the struggles they are facing.

Runvember check in!  How are you doing?  How many miles have you logged?

Did you sign up for a Turkey Trot?

No, we will be traveling home that morning, but I would have loved to.

What fashion rules do not apply to you?

  1. Ummm no fashion rules apply to me? I play dumb with those rules in hopes of getting away with breaking them. #amiarebel? In reality, I just look like a 3 year old who just learned to dress herself. #noimahobo

No turkey trot this year! I have a half marathon the Sunday before, so I figured that gives me the excuse to stuff my face on Thanksgiving.

  2. I haven’t signed up for a Turkey Trot because there are no sign ups…but Pismo Beach is having a 5k & 10k on Thanksgiving. No timing chips but this year they will have a clock! You just show up bring a couple bucks to donate and your in. Pretty standard beach town run.

  3. I passed this challenge on to our Pacifica Runners Group and so far we have over 30 members participating. We are logging our miles daily under our FB page or via our website http://www.pacificarunners.webs
The support and motivation everyone’s posts are providing to our members is amazing. What is even more amazing is the number of children, especially between the ages of 5-9 that are running with their families now. Super Excited for what is to come!!! Pacifica Runner Rock!

Thank you skinnychick for making sharing this challenge with us 🙂

    • Wow, I just checked out your site-thank YOU for encouraging others. Mike & I used to visit Pacifica all the time when we lived in the bay area. In fact, we almost moved there. What a beautiful beach town to live & run in.

  4. Runvember is going great – 10 miles so far with a long run coming up this weekend! Would have loved to do our local drumstick dash, but we will be on vacation…maybe next year 🙂 I haven’t tried the nuun watermelon flavor yet, but it sounds refreshing!

    • Fantastic job girl!! What an awesome name for turkey day race-drumstick dash. I love it!
Get yo paws on some watermelon Nuun-that stuff rocks.

  5. A slow start to the November challenge for me…but I’ll make it! My group is doing amazing at it and have challenged themselves to do more!!!

    Love your new running grounds!!!

    • It’s a slow start for me too, but we’ll make it happen, right! You are doing an amazing job organizing your neighborhood running group. Please keep me posted on how they do.

  6. I started off slow, but have a 10 miler planned for in the morning, and if I don’t die from it, I will be running a half marathon on two weeks.

  7. I’ve logged 12.5 miles so far, with hopefully another 6 today! I am super pumped to be doing a 5 mile turkey trot on Thanksgiving! What a wonderful way to start a day of food & football!

  8. Very slow start but Ive logged 7 miles so far! Hoping to increase this week with new shoes!!
