Simple things Sunday: Thankful

IMG_8382

Contrary to popular belief *cough Mike cough* sometimes I don’t have words to say.  Today is one of those days.  I am thankful for many things beyond even my own imagination.

One of the many things in life that make me happy besides running {we’ll get to that in a sec} is watching Bam run free like a hippie at the dog beach.  I swear I could see him smile.

I always see tons of pups having the time of their lives while working the golf course {along the top of the pic below} and finally got a chance to take Bam.  It takes effort to transition into the beach bum lifestyle, so I’m sure we’ll have to go back every day.  Forever.

I am feeling really good about the Runvember #thirtyin30 challenge.  And the fact that Bam most likely photo bombs every single one of my pictures.

Mike & I were browsing for home décor ideas which is where he found this sign and forced me to take a picture with it.  I don’t blame that man, this girl can not cook to save her life.  I just throw a bunch of stuff in the crock pot and cross my fingers.

We came home to relax awhile before date night.

Last night I actually put on real clothes, jeans included{!}, did my fur and put on red lipstick.

Ow ow!

We went to Luca in Carmel By The Sea.

The rustic lighting & mellow music made for the perfect ambiance.

You know you’re in an authentic Italian restaurant when you see house made salami curing from your table.  And by the way I LOVE salami.  Like love it.

Date night rocks especially with a wood fire pizza with house made pepperoni the size of my face.  Times 2.

I even had a delicious glass of wine with dinner.

I’d really like to know who I am.

In case you’re wondering, Mike loved his dinner.  Per the menu description, he had the grilled Angus Tagliata steak with braised swill chard in a red wine reduction.

What are 4 things you are thankful for?

What did you order the last time you went out to eat?

Any wine lovers out there?

I really enjoy white wines-a semi-sweet chardonnay is my current fav.

I’ve never been to Luca, but want to try it now!

  3. Today I am thankful for family. We are taking a family picture this afternoon with my parents, siblings and all our kids.

The last time I went out (Friday), I ordered a spicy veggie pasta dish. It was a Cajun restaurant. Yummy!

I like wines, though they aren’t my favorite. I prefer sweeter whites.

  4. We rarely go out for dinner – just easier to eat at home with the boys! I love wine – the sweeter the better!!!

  5. Thankful for my Bigs, Little and Mister; thankful to be running today; thankful for the short ribs currently cooking and making the house smell divine and thankful for red wine. 🙂
The last time we went out for dinner it was to Five Guys Burgers where I stuffed my face with a bacon cheeseburger topped with the works the loaded in some of their addictive fries. I felt like Templeton at the fair in Charlotte’s Web 🙂 But it was so worth it.

  6. DId your fur. That’s great!
I too have been feelin’ heavy on the thankfulness this month already. Today, I’me especially thankful for precious time with family, needed church sermons, beautiful running weather, and restfulness.
Last time I was out to eat, hmm, sweet potato fries and a fish salad. Killing two birds with one stone.
    Wine lover you betcha!

  7. Thankful for so many things- lately the support of my fiance and friends has been huge! Couldn’t do it without them!

Love wine, definitely a dry red kind of girl–but I can also do a lighter sweeter white if the mood fits!

  8. um, i hate to point this out, but it’s Swiss chard, not swill chard. ‘Swill’ is a verb that means swishing something around, like in a glass.

I normally don’t make comments like this, but that was just really funny to me!
