Happy happy happy

After being lazy around the house all morning, we finally got our crap together to show Ronda a good time.  While we waited for Benihanas to open, we walked along the beach.

There were a bunch of Sea Lions sunning on the rocks.  Every time Mike whistled they all looked over at us.  They are so adorable.

I could spend all day here.

I would like you to know that we have corrupted my BFF Ronda.  She tried wine + sushi for the first time ever this weekend and liked both.  Plus we are sending her home with a new highly offensive vocabulary.  Yes, we are untrustable.  And yup I totally just made up a new word.

After lunch we picked up Bam and went for a hike in Carmel.  I’ve been dying to take Mike here.  Plus R loves to hike so it was a win.

The Bam had a blast running around like a crazy man, tromping through ravines, chasing birds + squirrels.  No fear I tell ya.

We hopped back in the car to show R around Carmel thinking we extracted all of the energy out of Bam, but noooooooooo.  Mr whiney pants wanted to run some more so we had to walk along the dog beach.  It was pure torture.

I might have jumped up & down with excitement like a total nerd when I caught this shot.  No filter, no editing, just God’s beauty.

With an Instagram filter just because.

Back in the car to do the loop drive along the coast then headed home to throw some burgers on the grill.  never.gets.old.

  1. (Loving the Duck Dynasty reference in your blog title today)

These shots are awesome. Always making me totally jealous with your beautiful scenery. These pics make Alabama look like the butthole of America.

  2. Aww Bam looks so happy. He is such a cutie. I love how excited dogs get to run and be out in the open. 🙂
My favorite place to visit is San Diego. I lived in various parts of Cali years ago and San Diego and I really clicked 🙂

I tried Fire Cracker Whiskey(Cinnamon flavored Whiskey) on NYE. I did NOT like it. I’m not a brown liquor fan at all. YUCK!!!!

  3. Love your pics! What an awesome day! Speaking of hikes, have you guys taken the 6-10 mile Garrapatos Park hike on Hwy 1 in Carmel? It’s my FAVORITE! My husband and I live in Southern California, but we love Big Sur/Carmel area SO much! When we are in the area, that hike is a MUST! We always go up the back side of the mountain, which is a great glute and hammy workout, and enjoy the killer views at the summit and all the way down the front (Pacific coastline galore!) Your post today gave me a serious craving for it! Thanks! ;o)- Anyway, have fantastic week!

  4. Those are beautiful pictures, I like the one with you and your hubby you guys look so cute :).
The last food I tried was some Japanese soup that hubby made and the last drink I had and I would never have again was called an abortion and it was quite gross lol.
I don’t make up words but my son does for the both of us lol.

  5. I have to say with all the wine talk on your blog I think I am going to have to finally give in tonight. Can you believe I have 3 bottles of UNOPENED wine in my house right now!? That has got to change!!!

  6. Bam has the life!! I could never show my dog…she’d die of jealousy!
My favorite places on earth are Hawaii and Idaho. Idaho..really? Yes, really! We take our annual family vacation to island park, Id and it’s gorgeous and has all of my favorite outdoor activities.

  7. I totally make up words…maybe it’s a blogger thing!!!

I never get tired of seeing the landscape that you can home…it’s absolutely breathtaking and is helping me get through this tough winter here in Nova Scotia. Thanks girl!!!

    • They are actually super skinny sweats from Hollister. Mike picked them up a couple Christmases ago, but they might still carry them.
