Running + bacon

Welp, we finally got some rain!  I really enjoyed the schweet 70 degree weather while it lasted, I’m so happy it’s here.  The rain & wind makes me want to drink hot coffee + snuggle with this face, but it’s also perfect running weather.

So I laced up my Wave Hitogami’s <-kmlrunner are ya happy now!?  Winking smile and went for a run.  I think about a lot of stuff while running, yesterday I was thinking of those who would give almost anything to run, but can’t.  That run was for them.  I never want to take the ability to run for granted.

My turn around point.  It was so horrible.

It’s crazy how much the weather affects my running.  As much as I don’t like to admit it, {I love the sun} I am a cool weather runner.  I feel really good the entire time and can run faster without feeling like death and sadness.

4 freaking awesome miles later I came home to organized chaos…

And a big pile o’ BACON!!

Mike has been on a homemade burger kick lately.  He mixes a bunch of good stuff, forms burger patty’s and freezes them individually.  His latest batch is made with all the good things in life: bacon, cheese, garlic, onion, Heinz 57 & pepper.  I think it’s his best one yet, but then again how can anything taste bad when it includes bacon?  If that’s possible please don’t tell me, ignorance is bliss.

Everything was going swimmingly until I pulled out these Costco buns.  Wow, that just sounded wrong.  Ha!

In other news, I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and saw this.  I can only imagine how heave those kicks were.  I mean you could seriously hurt someone with them!  I don’t recommend it though. Winking smile  Now we have ultra light, speed shoes like the new Hitogami’s.

What is your idea of perfect running weather?

Have you ever ran in ultra light, speed shoes?

This is my first time running in them ever.

Any burger fans out there?  What secret ingredient{s} do you put in ‘em?

  1. I enjoy cool weather running too. Like mid 50s or so. Anything above 75 and I fear heat stroke (I get heat sickness easily) and anything below 40, I fear my toes falling off. I just hate being cold or overheated :\

Where did you get your dining room table? I’m looking for a good table to have in our house. We currently eat on the coffee table in front of the TV. bah. A good, solid wood table is what I want.

The top of the bun looks a wee bit flat…

  2. I run in Newtons and love them. The Distance U and Gravity are great for speed work.

I love me some burgers. Bacon is a necessity in them. Sriracha is also good!

Perfect running weather 50 degrees and sunny. No wind or humidity please. I don’t do well running in the heat (aka above 70)

  3. How do I like my cheeseburger? Hmmm…

I like mine with lettuce and tomato,
Heinz 57 and french fried potato,
A big Kosher pickle and cold draft beer,
Good God Almighty, which way do I steer?

  4. Honestly right now I would just love weather that didn’t involve snow. Even your rainy weather looks beautiful! I am still way too jealous of where you live.

I enjoy running in speed shoes – but haven’t in quite a while because I haven’t been able to do the right kinds of runs for them.

    • Ok so it didn’t post my entire comment the first time.

Keep wearing those Hitogami. I have been reading up on them too.

I’m a cool weather runner as well. Like anywhere between 35-45 is optimal for me. I live in TX and summer is HOT here so I soak up this cooler weather whenever I can. 🙂

Keep wearing those Hitogami’s girl. I think I need to get them just because the name is so fun to say. It’s like I’m a Ninja. HIT-O-GAM-I!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Perfect running weather? You can pretty much see it in your pictures! I can’t wait for warmer weather so I can go running on the beach (I live inland a little bit so I have to wait until I go on vacation in South Carolina and/or Maine).
I’m not new to speed shoes, I had running flats when I was a sprinter on my high school track team…14 years ago. I feel old.

  6. WOW. Can’t believe that’s where you run! So beautiful and breath taking! We planned a trip to Florida in March so I’m looking forward to those views in 2 short months!!
