We do fun things

My arch is finally feeling so much better.  I finally lost the whole gangsta limp.  So while waiting for the hus + R to get ready for the day I did a quick round of strength training.

After taking 6 full days off from running, I might try to get a couple super easy miles in.  I can always walk home if something feels off.

I am pulling out all of the tricks I know of to convince R she needs to move to Monterey.  I mean, how can she say no to this?

We had a blast walking along the beach.  I can’t remember the last time I laughed so hard.  Which says a lot considering I am always on the edge of peeing my pants with the comedian I’m married to.

I found a dead jellyfish that washed up on shore and called for R to grab a stick because I wanted to poke it.  I used a seashell to flip it over and as soon as I did that a big wave came and swept it out to sea.  I stood there staring at the ocean yelling at mother nature for taking my experimental project back. BEFORE YOU SEND HATE MAIL, IT WAS ALREADY DEAD, I DIDN’T KILL IT. I’m just really like an 8 year old boy, and wanted to poke it with a stick! It’s kinda sad I have to put this here, but right now there are “those” people are getting a twinge in their backside and are gonna be internet Rambos and tell me I’m mean and cruel to the jellyfish population and people like me are the reason the the planet is dying……end of rant. See I beat you to it.

So we climbed rocks to check out tide pools and watch the waves crash.  That’s one of my favorite things ever.

Did a little sand surfing.

At our turn around point we sat in the warm sand and agreed we could have stayed there all day every day.

Unlike yesterday, I remembered my wallet and picked up the Starbucks tab on our way home.  Plus I took her to one of the most beautiful locations ever. Now y’all can’t think I’m a horrible friend.  Winking smile

I was sad to see R go, but it was so nice to hang out all weekend and go wherever the day took us.

Is it weird that I don’t like taking the sand off my paws because I feel like the fun is over when I do?  Don’t answer that.

What was the last super fun thing you + your BFF did?

How do you tell if an ache or pain is an injury or just a little sore than normal?

What are your mini goals for this week?

Drink more water than wine, strength train 3 days & if I can, take a new fitness class.

  1. I’d be right there with you poking that thing!!
This week I need to eat a little more protein and a little less carbs. Also, keep up on my plank challenge. It’s just a 30 day challenge I gave myself to see how much I can improve 🙂

  2. Wow what amazing views you get to see everyday. Seriously – can I be your new BFF?!!

Glad you are starting to feel better – hope you can get out and enjoy that beautiful weather again soon with a run! 🙂

  3. I’d poke it too, no doubt about it.

    Mini goals for this week:
    1. Stop the negativity. 2 bad runs don’t make a crash and burn half…in 10 weeks. I have plenty of time to iron out the kinks.

    2. More protein.

    3. As the only non-running related goal: Clean up my family room. I’m pretty sure it’s still there buried under 2 feet of stuff that needs to be put away.

  4. There must be something in the air cause I’m having arch/foot problems too :/ I overpronate A LOT so I’m 99% positive it’s due to that. For myself, if I RICE a lot and the pain doesn’t go away, then I go to the doc to make sure I’m a wimp and it’s not an actual injury.

  5. Thank you for blogging with pictures of sand, sea, and sunlight. I’ve really been missing warm weather. I’m completely jealous, but it also gives me hope that someday (soon, hopefully) it will get warm again!

  6. I’m rebelling and not answering your questions but instead commenting on your pictures. Love the pictures of the sandy beach with the footprints…amazing. and #2…I lived by the sea the first 23 years of my life….I poked at more jelly fish than I could even count…it’s a natural thing…screw the haters. You don’t even want to know what I did when I lifted all the seaweed and looked for crabs. LOL
You go girl! Enjoy your jelly fish poking!!! I really think we were separated at birth. LOL

  7. Glad you had a great time with your friend! I got to spend this past weekend with my BFF’s racing and it was just a great way to spend time together. We all ran and then went to brunch and talked for hours…sheer perfection.

  8. My girls and I went to a cowboy bar/club in Fremont. The Saddlerack. I had never been. It was pretty fun.

I’ve been doing strength training this week and I *think* I may have tweaked a hamstring or something because it aches. I dunno fi it’s just soreness since I haven’t ST is a LONG time or if it’s something serious like an injury. blah. hard to tell.

I so want to get my butt to the beach now. I only went ONCE last year. so sad.
