Virtual coffee date: things I’m digging right now

  • Today is my Friday.  I am a nerdy excited to bust out my planner and plan next week.  My days shall be filled with running, coffee + becoming professional beach bums with Bam.
  • I ran for the 3rd day in a row yesterday because I felt like it.  I took it easy and enjoyed the calm before the storm.  Then it poured the rest of the day and that was really nice.

  • Mike should quit his job and be my personal chef.  He’s been making dinner this week and I have loved everything.  There are no recipes because he wings it and nothing ever tastes the same exact way twice.
  • I’m in LOVE with the dermalogica oil free matte sunscreen.  I have an oily mug and most sunscreens only add to it or make it worse, but this one actually helps prevent grease face.
  • Y’all know I am solar powered and spend a lot of time outside.  The solar defense {on left} is also really good and smells like tea tree, and because it has SPF 50 I wear it on days I plan on being outside all day.  Also I wear it under makeup in case you are wondering.  The only downside, like most high quality products, it’s a bit on the pricey side, but a little goes a long way.

  • I’d also tell you that since I’m not a real blogger, I don’t like smoothies.  At all.  They taste good, but are just too heavy for me.  I do love fresh squeezed juice.  My current favorite is orange-carrot.  It’s perfectly sweet without feeling like I’m drinking a bag of juiced Skittles.  Though, that kinda does sound fun.

  • Bam is a little upset he hasn’t made an appearance on his blog lately.  Yes, I call this dumb ole blog his, I just write it because he doesn’t have thumbs.

  • If only Skinny Runner was still around to post this on her crappy race pictures roundup.  I have no idea what I’m doing here.  Plus I’m still running after crossing the finish line.  Weirdo.

  1. I’d tell you I am excited that April is almost here because that means we are 2 months away from getting out of this hell hole I live in and that I’m really excited about some things that are coming up! I’m finally making a few things happen I’ve been talking about for a while 🙂 Oh, and running I love to talk about running..duh!

  2. I love to juice and make smoothies at home. They are better than any I’ve ever bought. I usually do smoothies more often because I’d way rather clean the blender than juicer. Too many parts, jack lelanne!
My husband is my personal chef (he really was a chef for a long time.) I look in the fridge: we have nothing to eat! He looks in the same fridge and whips up a gourmet meal. Now if only he wasn’t working 60 hours a week (tax season) and was actually home to do it!

  3. i love juices, my favorite is orange and carrot too or just plain orange vccccccccccccccccccccccccq <— my cat just typed that lol. I am always wondering what sunscreen to choose there are so many kinds out there !! i bought one for my kids that says it's 100 SPF which i am also wondering about that some say 50 some say 75 and this one 100 !! can we just stick to 1 number please?? lol It is kind of hard to put it on your skin but since i can never choose one then i just go with that, i also wish there was different scents and not just beach or pool smell :p, i wouldn't mind running smelling like strawberries or peaches hehe.
We would also talk about running, this whole week my kids have Spring break so i'm stuck running on the treadmill 🙁 .
Ugh running pictures, i always look like i'm a bum who's dyeing with all the stuff i carry around while running.
I love the color of your Garmin !! it looks so cute and it seems so tiny and practical unlike the other ones hehe.
Oh and what's in the menu for the week? and any cupcakes for dessert?

  4. I would tell you that I ran an 8.1 mile race yesterday! The forecast was mid 30’s and 70% chance of rain, but the rain held off and the sun actually came out for a few miles! My friend ran the 1/2 marathon during this race (it was a 5K, 8.1 mile, 1/2 marathon, and 30K race all in one…) and she got 1st place in her age group! I was in the mid 30’s in my age group, but I finished and that is all that matters! 😉
Our swim league championships are this week and our women’s team is the only team in our division, so it looks like it will be fun time and no worries about swimming fast!
My husband, our kids, and I are totally bucking the extended family system this Easter and instead of doing the traditional meals on Easter day, we are going to the sunrise service at church and then heading to Pittsburgh to watch a Pirates game! Bring on the hot dogs and nachos for Easter dinner!
I am sure there would be lot of other topics to discuss, but sometimes the conversation just has to lead itself! Have a great week and send us some sunny, warm weather!

  5. I would tell you that I am so excited about moving to Boston this week! We just finished our first day of driving and are currently in Utah. 4 more days of roadtripping and we’ll be home!!

  6. I would tell you in a VERY excited manner that I too love using my planner. I get so excited when I get to buy a new one run and PEN dates in it lol…. then I would ask what are you writing in your planner? how far and where will you be running? what beaches are you hitting up… It’s COLD in NY… I need some sunshine (if only through pics)

  7. That looks like a pretty crappy pic to me! Wait, that came out wrong….
