Wine tasting + realizing our dreams are very expensive
I came home from work on Friday to find Ronda making us her famous enchiladas for dinner. Yah, she drove 157 miles to make us dinner. I vote this becomes a Friday tradition every week.
Yesterday we took R to Carmel Valley to do a little wine tasting for her first time ever. We had lunch at the Vineyard Bistro before the party got started.
Turns out it was another great life decision. The girls had club sandwiches and the boy had the blackened chicken sandwich. Why they feel the need to put mayo on sandwiches, I will never know. #buttcheese
Our first stop was Cowgirl Winery.
The ambience is totally our speed, rustic + western and we really want to like their wine, but unfortunately none of us did. What a bummer.
The bright side is there are several other wineries to check out right next to it.
We hit up Talbott right next door. We love the wine and went home with a couple bottles of Kali Hart Chard.
One last stop at my current favorite Joyce for R to try their Rose. She loved it as well. It’s my fav too so naturally we went home with a bottle each.
This boy was a great host making sure us girls were happy and medicated.
It was a lot of fun and let’s just say the wine went to this girls head, so we stopped into Carmel By The Sea on the way home to do a little espresso machine window shopping. Sur La Table is a wonderland. Holy smokes, I can totally see why cooks love that store.
Mike and I have always dreamed of having a full espresso/coffee bar in our home. We just realized our dreams are very expensive. Ouch.
We had plans to go out to dinner but wearing a bra sounded like torture so Mike picked up steaks + potatoes and fired up the grill. That man spoiled us girls all day.
Then we parked it on the couch and watched The Hangover III while Bam begged for popcorn. He is obsessed with it. Who knew?
What foods do you think are gross?
Along with mayo, I’m not a fan of ginger, rosemary + oregano.
What was the last thing you did with your BFF?
What would be in your dream home?
