Virtual coffee date: no J, you can’t eat that

Good morning! How’s your week going?

It’s going to be a busy day, so I wanted to take some time to reflect on things I am thankful for and just be at peace with how things are at the moment. Sometimes that is easier said than done.

If we were having a virtual coffee date, here are some random things I would share with you.

I have raisin toast, a spot free banana, water + coffee for breakfast every morning. Sometimes I get a little board with it, but the Type A in me can not deviate.

By the way, I only use Canola Harvest spread & I can only find it in a few places. When I restock my fridge, I get 4 or 5 at a time. Picture this, me walking straight to the butter, grabbing an armful of this stuff, plunking it down on the checkout conveyer belt, handing the cashier my card and hustling out of the store…….it probably leaves them wondering what I’m gonna do with all that stuff.

Canola

Bam cracks me up. Apparently this is what he thinks of the doggie shoes I got him awhile back. In case you missed seeing him walking in them for the first time, you can check it out here. You are welcome for the good laugh.

I really, really, really miss running. Especially when a song I listen to while running comes on or I drive by apart of the trail I used to run on. The bright side is I’ve already survived 5 weeks {tomorrow} in the boot. I’m crossing my fingers it won’t be too much longer.

Not only does going to Costco hurt my wallet, their concrete floor hurt my paws. I knew that before the injury but dang it’s crazy. It also makes me rethink the whole running on concrete thing.

Sometimes {like yesterday} when I feel like death + sadness Mike puts the top down and takes me on a long drive to catch some fresh air. Then to Starbucks because coffee fixes everything. I’m sure of it.

He even pulled over so I could snap a pic of this church I think is adorable.

Cindy gave me a couple bars of natural soap she makes. I think this one is oatmeal cookie and I am in LOVE with it. She also brought a couple bars of her new coffee and mocha soap. They smell SO good I asked her if I could take a bite out of them since they’re all natural and stuff. She said no and that I had to wait a couple weeks for them to cure. Punk.

Why can’t my refrigerator look like this?? Oh yeah because my name is not Martha freaking Stewart, that’s why.

Sometimes I ask Mike to proofread my post and when he asks if he can hit the publish button, I get a little upset. I feel like the kid back in school doing a group project and the one who does the least amount of work still gets their name on the project.

I would also tell you to enter the Ellie Rose giveaway. Also coupon code SKINNYCHICKBLOG for 25% off is still valid until tomorrow, so get on it!

Your turn!

Do you stock up on one thing at a particular store?

  1. That oatmeal soap sure looks good enough to eat! Break me off some! I’ll sign a waiver. Awe, feel better J. How long you have left in the boot?!

When I go to TJ’s, I always get at least 5 jars of Cookie butter (crunchy) and about 7 bags of Inner Peas. You would think that would last for more than 7 days. Fail!

  2. That bar does look good enough to eat. When I first saw the pic I thought it was some new protein or power bar. I got a little excited. Now I’m a little disappointed but would totally use it. Funny about the dog shoes. My son was telling me this morning we should get some for our dogs so they stop tracking things in our house. Then we had a 5 min discussion on how that would/wouldn’t work. I can’t wait to show him Bam’s video. The only thing I’ve ever really stocked up on is creamer for my coffee but now that I can’t have it I feel I need a new addiction. Oh and coffee, I always wait until it’s on sale and buy a lot of it. I’m so classy that my favorite is Folder’s French Roast.

  3. I would tell you to keep pushing! I had a femoral stress fracture nears the end of last year and I remember how hard it was not to run. Don’t worry though, you will get back at it!

  4. So cute! I love this post! I love that you stock up on butter. Awesomeness. Also, 5 weeks, you have done great! It definitely can’t be too much longer. And the oatmeal cookie soap, I think I would try to eat it, rather than use it as soap, because I bet it smells darn good! haha!

  5. Omg on our virtual coffee date, I would probably spike mine with BAILEY’s bc coffee is great but so are cocktails and then we could laugh about everything….Keep your head up, 5 weeks is a long time, but just think how amazing it’s going to be to go for a fabulous run…. and honestly, it’s going to make you appreciate the abolity to run even more…

I stock up on organic milk.. I know it sounds bizarre but it’s the only kind of milk I will drink and Ella goes through soooo much of it…. I seriously pull up to the register with like 5 or 6 half gallons probably twice a week:(

  6. I stock of up whenever I find something I know I will use and it’s on sale. So I always have random stockpile of various things. Can’t believe it’s been 5 weeks, I have been in a boot before…no fun but you are doing awesome!
