Wanna bet?

Happy Friday!! I hope you have big plans that include lots of running, racing, eating all the food and drinking unlimited amounts of coffee this weekend.

Bam demanded I show you his fur cut & pawdicure. Dude walked in the door thinking he’s all that and said something about looking for a girlfriend.

True story: last week Mike and I were walking {well, I was hobbling} out to the car and I heard him whistle. He flagged down a mobile pet groomer driving by and made an appointment.

I have a strong passion for supporting small American businesses so Lynda  was absolutely perfect!

She is an entrepreneur who trained with another mobile pet groomer for 2 years before starting her own business. She converted a van {like a bread truck} into a full grooming pet salon and absolutely loves what she does and is really good at it.

Bam LOVED her. I wish I would have taken a video of him strutting his stuff when he walked in yesterday. It was almost as if he was smiling and telling her thank you and please don’t leave. Which of course made us feel really good.

I did not get paid or do a trade to talk about Lynda’s business, Mike and I are extremely happy she drove by at the perfect time. I adore anyone who is willing to take a chance and follow their passions like Lynda.

Now Bam’s quite the patriotic guy these days.

After Bam got all settled, Lu and I headed to the beach. It was perfectly sunny + 72!!

The boy: It’s too hard to use crutches on the beach.

Me: Wanna bet?

We scored a super close parking spot- the advantages of it being a week day. I took it very slow and didn’t go far at all. As soon as we hit the beach, we parked it for the afternoon.

Lu is practicing for her career of becoming a professional beach bum. Or super model who gives Gisele a run for her money.

On the other hand, I have no clue what I am doing here.

The day was absolutely perfect. On our way home I saw these white puffy clouds over the mountain range and Lu happily hopped out to snap a couple pics. She has a dream of becoming a photographer someday. Smile

Turns we worked up an appetite laying out in the sand all afternoon. Nothing says summertime like watermelon. Am I right?!

What are 4 things you have planned for this weekend?

Swimming, eating watermelon, swimming, eating watermelon.

Foods that remind you of summer?

Salads with summer squash + feta, ice cream, cherries, peaches and hamburgers.

When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I wanted to be a dance choreographer. I grew up taking roller skating, tap, jazz + ballet classes and loved them all so much I thought it would be so fun to teach classes all day.

If you haven’t had enough of my dumb ramblings, check out my guest post here. I talk about the mental side of the injury punks.

  1. Carb loading, running, meeting new blends, and (i bought a pool belt) pool

Ceviche, watermelon, brawts and otter pops.

Oh man, when i was a kid, I wanted to be an FBI agent. I thought it was pretty cool when they showed a crime scene on tv, they were the only ones that could get pass the yellow tape. They don’t even look the popo in the eye. They had the cool aviator shades, and just whip out their badge, like get out da way rookies! lol… I wouldn’t play dress up though, suit it ‘n boot it. I’d rather be like Johnny Utah in Point Break.

    • Ha I forgot about otter pops! I grew up on those things.
      You’re taking up pool running!?!?
Dude, I always thought being an FBI agent would be really cool.

  2. I’m going to give pool running a try (as a supplement to pounding the pavement). I saw videos yesterday that showed people gas’n out. So if you do it right, it will def keep your conditioning up. And I’m gonna switch gears on ya’ real quick. Last night after your Crunch Berries comment which made me say ‘hell yeah’…lol to myself, I called my brother and he said Smurf Berry crunch was better. Blasphemy! Oh, I know I’m rambling now… but my moms used to buy mini wheats for us to start eating ‘healthy’, but I would just take the biscuit, rub off the wheat so all I had left was the sugar cap! lol…man, the good ol’ days.

  3. My son is obsessed with Bam! He stole my phone and kept giggling at his picture. Watermelon is the number one thing that reminds me of summer. I need to go get another one ASAP!

  4. 4 things: 1. Working a 24 hour shift tmw…yuck. 2. Running 3. Strength training 4. Coffee drinking.
Watermelon, potato salad and corn on the cob are summer staples here!
I wanted to be an astronomer. I got a degree in earth and space science, but then went on to medicine.

  5. My 4 things for the weekend: running, hanging with my hubs, painting and playing with the pup! A relaxing and fun weekend!

  6. The beach looks amazing! You always post the best pictures of it. I mean, I know the beach is gorgeous down there, but I feel like you rarely have had a gloomy day when usually there’s so much of it this time of year! Lu’s hair is so pretty!

    • The weather has pretty much been like this since we moved here in November. We’ve had some foggy days here and there but not for too long. Everyone keeps telling me this is not normal weather, but I just tell them to leave me alone, ignorance is bliss, yo.
PS please come have coffee with me soon!
