Going going back back to Cali Cali

We woke up bright and early to catch our flight back to Monterey. I somehow convinced Mike that I am entirely capable of karate chopping anyone who might attempt to hustle me so I could play on The Strip by myself last night. He stayed back at the hotel because his paws are pretty much covered in blisters from walking. Turns out Vans are not good walking shoes.

If you’ve been following me on IG then you can probably guess where I ended up. Winking smile

It was my mission in life to go to the Bellagio and watch the fountain show every single night. Next time we’ll just have to stay there.

I definitely burned the candle at both ends since Sunday and feel like one of those celebs who needs to be admitted to the hospital for exhaustion. Ha just kidding, but I’m chugging cherry limeade Nuun since it has caffeine and trying to catch up on hydrating since I felt parched the entire time we were in Vegas. It was worth it.

SOOOOO worth it.

I’m sad our vacation is over, but I am so happy to be home by the sea and eat something with a little more color & nutrition than boneless wings, fries and margaritas. Until next time Vegas. Cheers!

Now that I really like flying, where do you recommend we travel to next?

I feel so disconnected from the blog world, fill me in on what’s going on with you.

  1. I recommend Maui! Best place I’ve ever been. I got married in Vegas and stayed in a penthouse suite at the Bellagio…amazing!!!!

  2. So glad you had fun! I love Vegas. My all time fave is NYC. I love the fast-paced hustle and bustle (although I am not sure if that would fit with your laid back Cali style).

  3. I heard Durango CO is really nice this year! Hope you guys are doing great and having fun!

  4. I love Vegas!!! My husband and I have been 3 times!! Each time was just as exciting as the previous! Where did you stay? We have stayed at NYNY, Mirage and Treasure Island. Loved them all!

    • Those are all fantastic hotels! We stayed at the Luxor & loved it. I like that it’s at the end of the strip so getting in & out of the area was fast.

  5. I am heading to Vegas on Monday!! I go about 1X a year. I am Canadian (London, ON) but often fly out of Detroit as it is significantly cheaper & closer than Toronto — an approx. 4-hour flight! I often stay on the end of the strip where Caesars/Mirage/Wynn are — Wynn is my favourite — I also like being close to the Fashion Show Mall as the Starbucks in there enables us to have a more reasonably priced breakfast! We (my mother or fiancé and I) will often seek out a sandwich from Nordstrom E-bar for lunch, and will have a more “sophisticated” dinner in the evening. I also like getting away from the second-hand smoke of the casinos. The spots that I love to visit when I am there — Wynn, Forum Shoppes (Caesars), Bellagio (the coffee just by the entrance is SUPERB!), MGM (unable to see the lion anymore, which is :(), NY NY (always HAVE to have a pretzel – never have one any other time of the year), and the M&Ms shop. I have been to Freemont St. a handful of times, but it really isn’t my ‘cup of tea.’ I always do a little shopping — a greater selection (Z gallerie, for ex.) and it is often a bit cheaper than back home. We also don’t drink/gamble or really enjoy club-hopping (not religious, just a personal choice). Have been to a few shows — La Reve (Wynn), O, Celine, and Jerry Seinfeld.
