Simple things Sunday: Friends

I woke up before Mike, made some toast, sat down at the kitchen table with my paws wrapped around a hot cup of coffee and stared at these beautiful lights. I thought about how thankful I am to have found my sweet spot in life.

The last couple of weeks have been bumpy and anything but perfect. I had the chance to sit still and quite (which is a miracle in itself ha!) with my coffee and reflect on how life is so beautiful even when some things are far from perfect.

I thought about the time I wrote about not having any friends after moving here. Now, we are so lucky to have made some of the best friendships of my entire life.

The last couple weekends we’ve had some of our closest friends sit around our kitchen table. We sipped beer + wine, ate some delicious food and had the best conversations about life.

They shared our excitement over the loaf of bread baking in the bread machine, dreamed about taking tropical vacations, talked about making plans for the next year, shared hilarious stories and just talked about life.

Those times are a great reminder to sit back, relax, and live in the moment.

I hope you have a chance to reflect on the things that matter most in life. Happy Sunday!

What are you thankful for today?

  1. hey sis 🙂 love the quarters vs. pennies analogy! I have a much better time hanging with a “quarter” friend (or even half dollar or silver dollar friend!) than a bunch of penny friends any day. xo

  2. I get this feeling a lot on Sunday mornings. Just such a great time to reflect on the week and realize all we have to be thankful for. I love the emotions that rush through me in those moments. It energizes me and makes me reset for the upcoming week. Hope you are having a great Sunday my sweet friend 🙂

  3. I am thankful to have such amazing support around me as I train for my first 1/2!! You are so right about just sitting and reflecting sometimes…it puts everything into perspective!!

  4. I am thankful for my family. I know it sounds cliche to say, but it’s true. They are my biggest cheerleaders and always there when I need them the most.
