Surprise week off

Goodbye summer.

Ha just kidding, this is the beach. It’s been summer for the last year. And everyone reminds me this weather is highly abnormal, it’s usually cooler. I just tell them to leave me alone, ignorance is bliss.

Really though we do see some change in seasons here. The leaves will change color and fall and hopefully some rain. Boy do we need that, so I am looking forward to the season change.

There was a mix up on my work schedule and that turned into me scoring the whole week off. I don’t even know what to do with myself. Oh wait, yes I do!

I put together a list of things I always want to do, but seem to find an excuse not to. Now let’s just hope I don’t catch the bug that knocked Mike down all weekend. Sorry, getting sick is not in my plans. But these are:

  • Go for a hike
  • Take Bam for long walks

  • Get fresh pressed juice and/or wheatgrass shot
  • Run and/or pool run
  • These new Mizuno Wave Rider 18’s sure help put a kick in my step.

  • Strength train
  • Try a new recipe
  • Do some fall cleaning: dusting, wipe down appliances, etc.
  • Play with my camera
  • Hit up the farmers market

If you had an unexpected week off, what would you do?

What are you looking forward to this fall?

Anyone have a favorite fall recipe, please share it!

  1. Fall is good – comfy food and clothes – but I’m not going to let you get away with just oh so causally mentioning The New 18’s!!! How do you like them? Any improvements from the 17’s (which I love, btw)? How much do they weigh? Please share the love on that glowing box of sunshine you’ve got there. Fall can wait! 🙂

  2. Enjoy your week off! If I found myself with an extra week off, Chopper & I would drive down to Monterey to hang out with my parents and go for lots of long runs!

  3. Fall hiking is at the top of my list too. Although the incident of a hiker being mauled by a bear yesterday has scared me I don’t mind being a scaredy cat). But enjoy your week off. Please follow my blog too.

  4. If I had a unexpected week off I would catch up on cleaning and sleeping… I totally need to fall clean to make room for some new fall threads…lol

I’m looking forward to pumpkin patches and apple picking AND maybe a hike through the Adirondacks bc the foliage is AMAZING (I may even post a pic or two)… of course I would rather have your beach views any day

I love the pumpkin roll… it’s a pain in the butt to make but DELISH

  5. I would do some work on my blog that I need to do but never seem to have time for, take a walk by the water, definitely do some cleaning, meal prep, try a new recipe and make some homemade soup!
