New running shoes + a post run tradition

Happy Monday!! My favorite day of the week. I am so thankful for a fresh start because last week one was a little stressful.

Thankfully my sidekick Emily came for a quick visit. Her brand new Mizuno Wave Rider 18’s came in the mail right before she left. And yes, it made my day that we are now twinners times two.

I could not live with myself if she were to walk around in perfectly shiny, fresh out of the box kicks, so we hit up the trail for an easy run. Isn’t she the cutest thing ever!?

We made sure to stop to soak in the warm sunshine while listening to frogs in the pond. We are all about the simple things.

In other news, it’s finally looking like fall here! Apparently the beach does have seasons after all.

I walked by this spider web as the sun perfectly hit it. I’m not a huge fan of spiders, but I think it’s so pretty.

After our run we went for fresh juice. It’s kind of our little tradition.

Mission accomplished.

I just got an email with Pro Compressions sock of the month for November. How perfect are these for a Turkey Trot or just to wear to the office?

Use coupon code NOV for 40% off and free US shipping on $20 or more. Valid until November 30, 2014.

Who’s running a Turkey Trot race? What distance?

What were the last pair of shoes you bought?

Do you have a post run tradition?

  1. I work during Thanksgiving so no Turkey Trot for me. I also run in Mizunos and love them but recently with my feet acting up I am considering trying other brands. I feel like I am cheating on my running shoe!

  2. I’m with you on the spiders….not a fan…but their webs are so perfect…and they spend so much time on each intricate detail!

  3. I was hoping to do a turkey trot this year & maybe get The Hus to run with me, but we’ll be out of town so it’s a no-go. If it’s a long run (anything over 10 miles really), then the tradition is PANCAKES! It’s about the only thing I CRAVE – once i’ve had my shower. 😉 Beautiful dirty shoes!

  4. Hey girl! Love the new shoes. So I got a little behind on the blog due to work being a bit crazy but wanted to find out what is going on with your hip? What is your diagnosis? I am sorry you are dealing with that. As you know, I have hip issues, too so wondering if it’s the same thing (?). Also how is your foot doing? Is that issue all better? I hope so. Take care, J.

    • No diagnosis yet…it comes and goes for the last vouple years but really flared up the last couple months. So far the best guess is the hip socket is too shsllow. What is wrong with your hip? We can be grandmas together. 😉

      • We ARE grandmas together, right!?! My PT thinks all my issues come from my running form (in addition to arthritis I have in my lumbar spine). We were supposed to do a form check this week but Colorado got a butt load of snow and cold. Ugh. We don’t want to do it on a ‘mill cuz that is not natural running (especially for me) so we will try again next week.

Is your foot all healed up?
        Are you still pool running?

I am swimming 2-3x per week. The water is so healing don’t you think?
