The sound of freedom

Happy Veterans Day!

Mike and I LOVE our military, those who are currently serving and have served like my cowboy. Every time I hear a fighter jet fly over our house, I look at my husband and say that’s the sound of freedom right there. I always get a hell yeah out of him.

There are not enough words to tell you how thankful I am to every single brave soul who unselfishly puts their life on the line to serve and defend our country. I hope this HUGE heartfelt thank you will do.

Here is a list of Veterans Day deals from retailers nationwide to honor and thank them for their service.

I guess this is turning out to be a mushy SCB post…

If you still don’t like Garth Brooks after watching this, go ahead and click that little X at the top because we can no longer be friends.

That has got to be one of the most heartwarming things I’ve seen in a long time. Folks like Mr. Brooks is why I love country music so freaking much. It’s not about fancy cars, flashy clothes or how much money you have. It’s about life –real life, simple things money can’t buy, family, love and yes dead dogs and divorces too. Ha!

Also check out Rebekah Gregory’s Facebook page. She was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing and after 18 months of pain she opted to amputate her leg. I adore her tongue in cheek way of keeping it real. I feel like we should be friends. 🙂

Has anyone who reads this dumb ole blog served? I really want to know!

  2. I don’t think this is mushy – just very heartwarming!!!
I haven’t served but my husband has 28+ years and is still a pilot in the Air National Guard.
