The best pizza of my life + my first post op appointment
Yesterday we went to San Francisco for my first post op follow up.
Alcatraz from the top of a scary hill Mike had to drive up as I white knuckled the door. The City is pretty, but every time this small town country girl goes there my anxiety level is on high alert. Maybe one day I’ll get used to it?
We got there extra early to have the best pizza of our lives. And I take pizza very seriously.
If you ever visit SF, you HAVE to go to Tonys International School Of Pizza. Yes, that is an order that you will send me love notes and unlimited amounts of coffee for life.
You are welcome. 🙂
We had the New Yorker that comes with hand crushed tomatoes, house made ricotta & mozzarella, pepperoni & sausage. Basically all things good in life. Times 2.
After another visit to Athleta (!) & Starbucks we headed to my surgeon for my first post op follow up.
The appointment went really well. Dr. Sampson said I am way ahead of schedule and sent me to physical therapy! He said that doesn’t typically happen until week 4 or 5 so I am very thankful to be where I’m at.
I had a lot of questions about walking, increasing workout times & resistance and his answer was to let pain be my guide. If it hurts, ease back. Sounds simple to me.
There is still a lot of work ahead, especially on range of motion, but I am ready to get to work and get back out on the trail again.
On the way home I got an email about the new Fitbit Charge heart rate monitor that just came out!! Enter fitness gadget geek out status. They also have one with GPS just in case you are a nerd like myself.
Anyone else geek out over fitness gear?
Where is the best pizza of your life at?
What gives you anxiety?
Athleta or Lululemon? Or neither?
