Not doing that again & dumb questions I hope you will answer
Yesterday morning I was itching to go for a walk and somehow talked Mike into going with me. Food was involved, so it was a slam dunk. 🙂
We walked 45 minutes and it felt so amazing to be out on the trail & beach with folks running, cycling, out on a walk. Mike even took a picture of my mug. I’m sorry world.
We stopped a lot along the way, mostly to give the ole hip a break and for Mike to skip rocks into the ocean. #nevergrowingup #ever #eveniftheresafire
We had lunch on Cannery Row since it’s the off season for tourists. Soon, they will all be back and we will start going to our secret spots. For now we are enjoying the more touristy spots. Like the drive along the ocean from Pacific Grove to Pebble Beach. We grabbed hot coffee, put the top down & enjoyed the sunny, salty air.
Turns out that long walk probably wasn’t the smartest idea. I felt great all afternoon – even thought about riding a bike at the gym or going to the farmers market. It’s a good thing I talked myself out of all of that, because last night I was in so much pain. With every wave of shocking, aching pain from my hip all the way down my leg I thought ‘lesson learned’ ha!
I’m feeling back to normal this morning, but it was a long night.
So that was that.

1. What are some words or phrases you often find yourself saying?
Awe snap, Bam stop chewing your butt, cowboy can you pee for me, one day (when I see a runner), dude that’s so cool, what do you want for lunch, can we go to Starbucks.
2. Planners: pen & paper or electronic?
Pen & paper for lyfe.
3. The kitchen isn’t clean until_________________.
The counters are disinfected & wiped down.
4. Shows you are currently watching?
Gilmore Girls (duh!) & Lilyhammer.
5. Favorite running distance? Not racing.

6. What is your current favorite quote?

7. Least favorite exercise in the world?
Pull ups. Gah.
8. One thing you do every day that makes you super duper happy?
Love on my boys & drink coffee. Hey, I made this game up, I can change the rules. 😉
9. Least favorite chore?
Dishes. I do them as quickly as possible because it’s therapeutic to NOT look at them.
10. Fitness trackers: yes or no? Which brand/website/app/etc. & why?
I used to think they were dumb but now see the fascination. Before surgery it was a fun way to challenge myself and beat my records, earn badges, etc. Recently it has helped me gauge my recovery.
Not sure which brand I want to try next but I’m digging my Fitbit.
