Green juice, beach time & randomly signing up for a race (!)

Good morning!! I hope your day is off to a great start.

I woke up relaxed which is a bit surprising after all of the pain I was in yesterday. I just sat on the couch, had breakfast and played sudoku while drinking coffee. It’s been really nice.

Lets switch gears and rewind to Saturday!

Emily came to visit for the weekend. Her only request was green juice and beach time. I love it when friends & family come to visit and have special requests.

She had a kale, mango & coconut smoothie & I had a wheatgrass shot with an orange juice chaser. Both were delicious! Plus they were 20% off at Whole Foods. Double score!!

After, we hit up the beach. Snowed in friends close your eyes. I can’t be sorry for days like this. If it’s any consultation, between the cost of living & California taxes, we will probably never be able to retire.

It was a perfect sunny & 65. I snapped this pic of Em enjoying the view.

We walked really slow to take the warmth & salt water all in. I am convinced that water, in any form is magically healing.

I had a blast watching Em climb rocks while resting the ole hip. Nothing beats seeing friends & family truly happy and enjoying the moment.

Post beach time, we headed back home to hang with Mike & Bamstagram. We enjoyed some wine while talking about life before heading out to dinner. We shared this wild mushroom risotto as an appetizer and it was pretty much amazeballz, so it had to be documented.

Oh and no weekend can be complete without randomly signing up for a race!! We are doing the Pinkest Run in Santa Cruz in March.

I was kinda bummed to miss out on one of my favorite races, but then Mike & Em reminded me I could walk it. Then Em offered to run the 10K, so that was that! Is anyone else running it?

I’m pretty stoked to have a little goal to work towards during this long recovery.

Have you ever walked a race?

Smoothie, freshly pressed juice or wheatgrass shot?

  1. Mother Nature really put on a show for us between the sun, crazy clouds, and crashing waves! And of course, it’s so much better when we enjoy it together 😉

  2. Yes, I have walked several races. I ran the Disney Marathon two years ago and was not prepared for the heat and humidity in Florida, especially coming from the Midwest in winter. Anyway, I ran the first half but had to walk the second half due to the heat. So I walked 13.1 miles and still was able to finish with time to spare before the cutoff. Now that I’m injured again, I recently walked the Disney 10K at Disney World earlier this month. It stinks but at least I can still walk and finish. So glad you are getting stronger and you will do great with the 5K in March.
