How was the rest of your day? I’ve been a busy, busy, beaver over here. But that’s the way I love it!
I was able to get most of my to do list done.
Laundry Help Mike with work Switch over to winter bedding (woke up freezing the past 3 mornings) Grocery Shopping Pick up Alisa from school
I even got a chance to take my dog’s for a walk to pick up Alisa from school. I couldn’t ask for more perfect weather. 🙂
Speaking of Alisa, here she is helping me chop Red Bell Peppers:
Yep, more peppers! They were still so cheap I had to buy more. So she chopped them all by herself for the first time ever! She even said “I love doing this, this is so fun”! Now if only I could teach her how to wash dishes. Muwhahaha!
I even had time to roast some fresh Green Beans and make homemade Salsa! Yep Siree Bob, I did! Check it out:
How I roasted the Green Beans:
- 1 TBS EVOO
- Sea Salt
Put in a Zip Lock bag & shake it up. Place on a baking sheet. Roast on 400* for 20 minutes. You must try this, they are flavorful & sooo yummy! 🙂
The Salsa was also very easy to make. I just combined these with tomato’s:
- 1/2 Red Bell Pepper (I usually use a green one but red was all I had)
- 1/4 bunch Cilantro
- 2 Lemons (‘cause that’s how I roll)
- 1 Jalapeño, seeds & ribs removed (I like a bite, not fire!)
- 6 Roma Tomato’s
- Sea Salt
- Onion Powder (love Onions but only if they are cooked)
Just chop, mix and serve.
Check out my the chopper I used. It makes my life so much easier! 🙂
And it’s really easy to clean:
Oh and dinner was fantastic too. Mike made Lemon & Garlic Chicken and Pasta. He is such a great cook, I can’t believe what a lucky girl I am!
Dessert was a fresh Banana. And yes I did have to replenish my supply today. What can I say, I. Absolutely. Love. Banana’s!
Since I’ve been running more since like, High School (funny, I know) my legs have been a bit sore, so decided to try soaking them in Dr. Teal’s Epsom Salt. The smell was a calming intoxication, very relaxing and it seemed to eased some of the soreness.
Well I’m off to soak and relax for the evening. Maybe catch up with “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” and/or “Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami” since I’m so addicted to those girls! Oh and can’t wait for the new season of “The Girls Next Door”! Yay!!!!
What T.V show(s) are you addicted to?

Did you catch the news segment Cristin from self.com did this morning?
She talks about 8 foods that can actually help your body fight fat. Yep that’s right. And all you have to do it eat them! :)
Did you know that Vitamin C helps you burn up to 30% more fat while exercising?
Head over there if you have a few minutes and check it out. It’s very informative.
I regularly eat 3 out of the 8, and I like them all with the exception of Sweet Potatoes. They have always been, well too sweet for me. (Odd, I know) Maybe it’s the way they were prepared?
Here is the link:
What do you think of it?
Also I am willing to give Sweet Potatoes another try, so please share your favorite recipes!

Good afternoon Bloggies!
How’s you Tuesday coming along? Busy over in my neck of the woods, but great so far!
I woke up this morning not too hungry so I decided a nice fruit plate was on the menu:
1 sweet Gala Apple & 1 Banana.
Along with a small glass of Orange Juice:
And of course I had one of these 🙂
For lunch I had a 6 inch Ham & cheese sandwich on W.W bread from Subway. I’m still new to blogging so I didn’t remember to take a picture…Sorry. :(
*Note to self…take pictures.*
Today is a rest day for running, but I will be doing some weight lifting with free weights, Bicycle Crunches & a nice long walk to the Dog Park with my furry friends! It’s still so nice outside(low 80’s) , I want to take advantage of it while I still can.
Plans for the rest of the day are:
- Help Mike with work
- Switch over to winter bedding (woke up freezing the past 3 mornings)
- Grocery Shopping
- Pick up Alisa from school
- Plan dinner
Have a nice day!
What do you do for a living?
I’ll go first. I have been fortunate enough to be able to help my husband with his job. He works in advertising> I help with his paperwork, set appointments, and follow up’s. And a lot more. I guess you can call me his Personal Assistant. We get to spend a lot of time together, and he get’s to drop off & pick up Alisa from school often, actually more than I do! We have a close knit family for sure. 🙂

Sorry for being M.I.A today. We were off on a few adventures. I will get to that in a bit.
For breakfast I had a nice warm bowl of Cream Of Wheat with Almond milk and a little bit of S.F Syrup swirled on top. I also had a banana. Can’t live without them, they are one of my favorite fruit.
Another one of my addictions;
Then I went for a 1.5 mile run. My time was 14:25. Now I need to slow my roll, and focus on distance instead of time. Tomorrow I plan to bump my distance up to 2 miles. We shall see how that goes. 🙂
Then we were off to my food Disney Land
I just love that place! I bought a few Lara Bars, Kind Bars(My first time trying these) lemons, Pumpkin Butter, and Oat N Wheat Bran Swirls cereal.
Also my daughter, Alisa twisted my arm for this one
No, not the tea! Ha, ha! But it said “Pumpkin” on it and I knew I wanted to give it a try.
When we got home Alisa and I proceeded to make a batch of Gina’s Breakfast Cookies.
We followed her recipe and added Pumpkin, Cinnamon, and Raisins.
We can’t wait to try them tomorrow morning! We made a few in the past with bananas, and loved them so we are so excited about these! Thank you Gina for posting this awesome recipe!
Lunch was a huge salad at Sweet Tomato’s, and dinner was a repeat from last night, so not too exciting.
We also visited with my Dad, Sister and Niece, Blair so that was really nice. Blair is over 8 months old and she is sooo adorable. I don’t get to see her as often as I’d like so I take millions of pictures & video of her when I do.
Here’s a picture of her in Disney Land this summer
Off to do some laundry and take a bubble bath! See ya in the morning.
I couldn’t find a regular size can of Pumpkin so now I have a lot left over! What do you make with it? Please share!

After checking out the loot I bought earlier, Mike requested Vegetarian Fajitas. I thought was a bit odd since he is a huge carnivore!
In a sauce pan I combined 1 small red onion, diced Red Peppers, Zucchini & Mushrooms with a little EVOO, Sea Salt, Pepper & Carne Asada Seasoning.
Sautéed on medium heat until they were a little on the soft side.
Turn heat to high and add a splash of Vermouth (secret ingredient) for a few more minutes.
I also warmed up a can of Black Beans, nothing fancy.
And for toppings I had reduced fat cheddar, tomato, Light Sour Cream and Smoked Chipotle Tabasco. I should also mention that I love lemon! It’s like a major addiction of mine, no lie! :) I have it on almost everything. So of course I drizzled some on the top of mine.
My husband & I have such a tight bond…so tight that we do almost everything together. Anyway he is really excited about this blog. He put his fajita’s together and said “look, take a picture of this”!
Mine was the same thing except I had a whole wheat tortilla and no beans. And we both went back for seconds without tortillas though.
Seriously you’ve got to try this! It was super easy to make and the taste was out of this world! You can modify it to your tastes, we were thinking beef would have been a great addition.
Off to a nice relaxing bubble bath. Have a good evening!
What is you fast, easy & healthy “go to” meal when your short on time or your starvin’ Marvin (us) and don’t wanna wait?

Hi guys! How’s your Saturday treating ya?
It’s been a very chill day here. I went on an awesome run today. I did 1.5 miles in 14:47. Yesterdays time was 15:11. Why is it that every time I run, I feel like my time is going to be slower than the last one? Am I the only one that feels like that? Ha,ha!
I made a trip to the grocery store for some fresh produce. I absolutely love fresh fruits & veggies. I think they are so beautiful! And of course taste they great too!
Here’s my loot;
Starting from the top left, we’ve got Roma Tomato’s, Baby Spinach, Bananas, Zucchini, Gala Apples, Parsley, Red Potato’s, Lemon’s, Mushrooms & Red Onions.
I can’t believe I found these for $.89 a pound! Wahoo!
I usually do all of the prep work as soon as I get home. It looks like this;
Since I found the Red Peppers for a steal, I chopped them up and froze all but 2, which I put into the refrigerator for this week. Easy peasy!
Oh, and I always have one of my furry friends beggin’ from me! This is Bo! For some odd reason he loves fresh fruits & veggies!
One of my favorite parts about reading other blogs is to see what they buy. I can’t believe I got all of this cool stuff for under $14.00!
Gotta go, hubby just requested vegetarian fajitas. Who is this guy? Lol! (More on that later).
What do you like the most about reading other food blogs?

It’s been a relaxing morning!
My husband, Mike and I went next door and played Electronic Monopoly last night. I can’t believe it took over 2 1/2 hours to finish 1 game! But it was a lot of fun! Mike won which is no surprise since he’s very good with numbers and very competitive! Needless to say we slept in a bit this morning. It was so nice!
I got my morning started off with a nice bowl of Oat’s. I changed it up a little by adding raisins, lot’s of cinnamon, and fresh red raspberries.
Look at how the agave beads glisten on top of the raspberries…
Sweetened with this;
I am not a huge fan of Oatmeal, but after reading about the health benefits I think it’s worth at least giving it another shot. I am trying out different toppings and add ins to hopefully start liking it a bit more. I’ve been following Kath’s blog for a while now and she has inspired me to mix it up. That girl is so creative!
I also finished my breakfast off with a cozy cup of coffee.
I’m off for a run and to hopefully find something to do outside. It’s too beautiful of a day to waste inside!
Do you like Oatmeal? If so, what’s your favorite combination?

Good afternoon bloggies!
It’s still such a gorgeous day here! I just got back from my 1.5 mile run. I beat yesterdays time by 9 seconds. Although I am not training for time, just distance but I do find timing myself is a great motivator.
I had pasta with chicken in a red sauce. It’s made with tomato sauce, paste, onion, garlic, sea salt, pepper, basil and a pinch of sugar.
I usually prefer whole wheat pasta but the husband isn’t a big fan, so we compromise. Besides that he does a lot of the cooking so I can’t complain! 🙂
I ate about half of this.
Desert was1/2 of a nice juicy Braeburn apple
I also snacked on a few handfuls of these after my run
Grapes are definitely in season. These were super fresh, sweet and firm. And best of all they were just $1 a pound!
Do you have access to fresh produce where you live? Since I’ve lived in Cali all of my life I’m curious if other areas have access to fresh produce like we do here.

Since my dad’s Birthday was a few days ago and I wanted to give him something a little more personalized, ya know something he would use.
Since he loves to cook and entertain I figured it would be nice to have a spice rack. But after looking at them in a few stores I thought they looked really nice. But would he actually use the spices that came with them? Probably not. But it wouldn’t be hard for me to make a more personalized one. So this is what I came up with
I purchased the glass bottles at World Market. They were $3.99 for a package of 4. What a steal!
I found a lot of the spices in the bulk bins at Win Co. If you have a Win Co where you live I highly recommend checking it out!
The Cajun Spice you see in the first picture is also from World Market. It’s one of our favorites! The bamboo stand is from Walmart, and for the labels I just printed them on address labels and customized them with red to match his kitchen.
It was a hit! He loved it, despite the fact that I consider myself craft challenged! Ha, ha!
Are you crafty or craft challenged? What did you make?

Good morning all! How’s your Friday treating ya?
It’s a great day here in Cali so far! The sun is shining, there’s not a cloud in the sky, and a high of 86*! What a perfect day to go for a run or just be outside.
I started my day with a yummy bowl of Banana Oatmeal!
- 1/2 cup Oats
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
- 1 large banana
Drizzled with a little syrup to finish it off. I like my oats a little on the sweet side.
Oh and can’t live without this…
Well I’m off to see what today brings me!
See ya in a bit!
